Sparking Visual Storytelling with Adobe Spark: This session will explore ways to empower students to own their story and how we can help them to share that story through visual storytelling with Adobe Spark.

Not everyone is a poet, but through our words we can make action happen! In this 45-minute hands-on workshop, we'll tackle the tough topics that are surrounding us and turn them into beautiful poetry!
While reciting them in public is COMPLETELY optional, we will hold a small poetry slam at the end of Day 1 for those brave enough to bare their soul in front of everyone! 

We will share foolproof, quick, easy to use arts- based strategies to engage all students in learning and activate their creativity. Although, most of our work has been at the pre-k-8 level, arts integration has application in all settings. Arts Integration has the power to maximize student engagement, foster creativity for both students and teachers, improve instructional practices by stimulating higher level thinking and champion profound school improvement.  

This crash course in educational video creation will go through educational script writing and branding, filming, lighting, and camera equipment, all the way through to editing and video dissemination through social media and educational platforms. Research shows that educational videos hold attention more effectively than traditional lectures and textbooks. They can facilitate discussion on subjects, demonstrate experiments and homework activities, and provide instruction outside of classroom time. Over time, creating videos can reduce teacher workload as they build a library of evergreen resources to share with students. There are 8 major barriers that stop creativity. If you have ever felt like your creative self is trapped inside you body, this is the session for you! We'll use our time together to go through a series of brain breaks and ideas that for classroom use.
